It is impossible to miss one of the most interesting historic places on the island, the city of Hall. As many as 2,000 years ago, Arab buyers stopped in Hall, running between Arabia and China. Historians claim that Portuguese were the first Europeans to go to the island here. And yet, the Dutch are the Dutch people who deserve the most credit in building Hall. The first Europeans appeared on the island by accident. In 1505, the Portuguese flotilla collapsed and found a shelter in the bay. When they heard the cockroach of the rooster in the morning (the Portuguese-Galo singers), the Portuguese gave the local name. By 1587, Portuguese had settled well in Gallé, Southern Province of the Candi State. In 1589, after one of the clashes with the Kandians, Portuguese built a simple reinforcement to protect the port and named Santa Cruz Fortaleza's fortress. In 1640, the fortress was attacked by Dutch men and four days after the blood fighting, protection fell.

Aware of the importance of the port ' s strategic importance in 1663, Dutch people built a fort (at the site of the destroyed), which is now in a great state and is one of the most remaining colonial forts in Asia. An entire city has been built on the fort: temples, housing and administrative buildings, lighthouses, prisons, streets, many of which are still wearing Dutch names. Through the Fort area surrounded by the wall, a calm, peaceful atmosphere is being created, moving a few centuries ago into the era of Dutch colonization. ♪ ♪
