Lake Nakuru is 160 kilometres north-west of Nairobi, 2 hours from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. On a local plane, we can get here from Wilson airport, it takes about half an hour. Nakuru is one of the lakes along the Great African Break. Its area is about 40 square kilometres, with a maximum depth of about 3 m.

Nakuru is a high lake, at a height of 1,759 m above sea level. Two large rivers feed him, Nyiro and Nderit. The lake is top-solid, because of the high water content of carbonates and bicarbonates, so only rare plants and living creatures that have been able to adapt to such conditions are small algae, several species of zooplankton, small frames and only one species of fish. Surprisingly, this meagre spectrum of water flora and fauna would appear to attract countless birds to the lake, the most remarkable of them small flank. These birds are bright and pink, and they can be collected up to and a half million on the lake. It's an unusual color for the feathers to beta-carothin, contained in the algae of alcohol, which feeds the flamingo. There are also ordinary flamingo, knapple, large white pelican, yellow-collar aist and African eagle-fish.

The locality around the lake is declared by the National Park. Pises are very diverse: akaciy forests are growing in the coastal territories, followed by endless green fields and mountain ranges, and Menengai is a giant, shrinking volcano around which tens of kilometres of lava is spreading. Local residents have a legend, which reads as follows: in times of interdose between African tribes, soldiers were thrown at the bottom of the crater, whose souls were then climbed to the surface in the form of a smokestyle. That's the treachery that explains the name of the volcano, the word "menenga" means "dead."

The park is the habitat of many animals, including lions, leopards, water boilers, boilers and giraffes. A few years ago, white noses came here, a rare species that is now on the verge of extinction. In the Nakuru region, the Naishi special reserve is now living in the Naishi region.
