Grand Hotel Cocumella

General

The hotel is located 15 minutes away from the center of the city, in its old part. The hotel building is a historic monument, and the villa was built in the sixteenth century as a monastery of Jesuits. Then there was a permanent yard for the nuns from Naples. The name of the place and then the hotel, Kumela, came from the local name of the water pot. At the end of the eighteenth century, the building at the monastery was purchased and a hotel was opened in 1822, following the construction of the second floor. Now Grand Hotel Cocumella is the oldest hotel on the Sorrenti peninsula. He's surrounded by a magnificent garden with clums, palms and cozy conversations. There were Andersen, Ghete, Freud and Moravia, as well as many outstanding personalities in world history. The hotel offers special programmes, numbers and gifts for young women. The concert hall has traditionally held concerts of old music. There's a Fitness Center in the hotel, an open pool, a comfortable restaurant with the terrace and a bar.

The hotel is located 1 km from the historical centre of Sorrento, 56 km from the airport of Naples, 260 km from Rome airport, 20 minutes from Kapri Island, 55 minutes from the east boat from the island of Iskya.

Room 53, including Standard Room, 35 Junior Suite, 18 Suite. All the numbers are customized, no one repeats. Some historical interriers and furniture, true paintings, rooms decorated by therracot vases, and a sophisticated old platinum on the ceilings are being held.

Water sports on the banks, tennis courts, park walks. The hotel has its own Vera sailing yacht (old yacht 1880, rebuilt for modern navigation), which is used for walks, cruises or guided tours, and can deliver guests to the island of Capri or the neighbouring Positano resort.

Conditions of swimming

The hotel is equipped with a beach at the bottom of a 30-metre suspension rock. You can walk down to the beach or on a special elevator.

Families with children aged 8 and over are accepted. The nanny's services for the extra fee.

Restaurants and bars

Three restaurants. The main restaurant of Scintilla offers meals to the Mediterranean and the European kitchen. Part of it is located on an open terrace with a beautiful view of the garden.

At the Closter restaurant, the room that's been set up under the old tranny, they're covering up some nice dinners.

Light snacks near the pool, surrounded by orange trees, go to Citrus Orchard.

There's a bar open at the lobby and one on the special terrace.
