Sri Lanka ' s climate, like weather, varies considerably from region to region. This is due to the geographical location of the island in the sub-equatorial mousse climate zone, as well as the varying altitudes of the country ' s surface.

Sri Lanka Three major climatic zones have emerged: coastal lowlands, plains and central highlands.

Coastal lows and plains will vary mainly by the average annual rainfall, temperature fluctuations will be minimal throughout the year (containing at +28 C day and 24 night). However, there are significant differences between the central areas of the country in the average temperatures per month. This difference is made that, at night, the winter in the Central Fire area is so low for the rest of Sri Lanka, the temperatures that can be frozen and the vegetation is covered differently.
