Summary

The Kiev region is the largest industrial centre in Ukraine. The capital of Ukraine and the administrative centre of Kiev province, the city of Kiev, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. In 1982, the city celebrated its 1,500-year anniversary. The economy of Kiev is dominated by an industry that accounts for up to 2/3 gross products. Lead industries: engineering and metal processing, chemicals, light and food. Area 29,000 square kilometres.
