This hotel is a luxurious place where every guest is treated like a king. Located 187 km north of Male, Velaa Private Island was designed to provide comfort and privacy to guests, as well as to enjoy the vast expanses of the surrounding nature. Local natural materials combined with many exquisite interior details were used for the construction of all villas because unity with nature is the main thing here.
The resort is located on a private island, owned by Jirji Schmeitz, who spent a lot of time in the Maldives on vacation or on business trips. Right here he became interested in creating a hotel that provides a high level of comfort he was accustomed. At the same time, he decided to bring his idea to life on the island diverse enough to organize the leisure of guests, but at the same time, provide them with real privacy.
Velaa - named after the sea turtles that have inhabited it for many centuries - became such an island. Turtles were also used as the main idea of the project, because from a height, the island resembles a turtle with a relief shell, the patterns on which are made by lush vegetation, and the villas above the water form the head of a turtle. Modern style designed by Petr Kolar, is used with authentic Maldivian touches.

The design and decoration used only natural materials in neutral colors with authentic patterns and animal prints.
