Национальный парк Глейшер Бей

Hotel description

General

Glacier Bay, a national park on the southeast coast of Alaska, west of Juno. Park is 13.287 square kilometres, most of which is wild. The Reserves are protected by UNESCO.
The nature of the Gleisher Bay coast is glaciers, a mountain team with snow peaks covered by forests, deep frords, rivers and lakes.
There are very few roads in the park, so cruises and air and helicopter tours are the best way to explore it.
A hundred years ago, the most famous glacier was the Muir glacier 3 kilometres wide and 80 metres high. But the climate is constantly changing, and in 1990, the glacier retreated. To date, tourists have the opportunity to observe the Margerie and Lamplugh glaciers. Leads coming from snow mountains form icebergs. There's a total of 9 glaciers and 4 icebergs.

There are bears in the woods and on the coast, reindeer, and the shore can see whales.

The recreational activities in the park are: fishermen, hyking, rock climbing, rafting, sea walks on catamaras and boats.

Park schedule
The park is open for a year, 24 hours a day, but in winter, the park is minimal.
The Clearing House operates from May until early September from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Climate

The glacier Bay of the Sea is influenced by ocean currents. The winter is relatively soft (-2 +5 C), and the summer and cold (+10-15 C). April, May and June are the dryest months of the year. In September and October, the largest rainfall is available. In the mountains, the temperature is much lower, there's much snow in the winter.
